Who Am I?

I am a professional musician.

And music has afforded me the opportunity to travel the entire world over. I have been able to see places I never would have thought possible.

I graduated from NYU with a Bachelors in Clarinet Performance. But I learned the most on the road; touring, jamming, getting thrown into musical situations I had no business being in. I had to learn my doubles (saxes, clarinets, flutes), I had to learn how to improv in different genres, I had to learn how to sight read incredibly difficult charts. I learned the hard way. I took my battered ego to the practice room and learned the lessons.

It wasn’t easy at first. Despite the great education I got at school, it did not prepare me for the real world. But I learned.

You don’t have to go through all that pain and embarrassment. I can teach you the lessons I learned so you don’t have to learn them the hard way. I have made a career for myself in music, and you can too! I have coached so many students into undergraduate programs and beyond. It takes work, but it is much easier with a coach. It makes a world of difference to have someone walk you around the potholes, warn you of the sharp curves ahead, tell you when you should speed up or slow down. I learned all these lessons the hard way, but you don’t have to.
